Registrations
… and payments
30 minutes before class, in cash (no cards) or by bank transfer:

A trial class costs 15 euros, and this amount counts as a deposit toward the subscription we ask you to complete on your second visit. We offer discounts on subscriptions, but not on the trial class (students, unemployed, seniors).
Subscriptions
- Dance at your own pace: our flexible subscription plans let you take one or more classes per week, depending on your availability and motivation.
- Open levels: you are free to attend all classes at your current level, as well as all classes at lower levels! It is an excellent way to refine your technique or simply enjoy dancing. Each class attended uses one credit from your subscription.
- A personal subscription: subscriptions are personal and non-transferable — they are reserved for the enrolled student only.
- A shared commitment to progress: by enrolling, you join our wonderful community of dancers. Make the most of your classes during the current session.
- Validity: class credits are valid until the end of the current session. Be sure to use them before that date; unused credits are not automatically carried over.
- If a health issue prevents you from attending (with a medical certificate), don’t worry: we can carry your unused classes over to a later session, or arrange a refund in case of permanent disability.
Coming without a partner?
You can come alone or with someone. Classes are often mixed after 2 or 3 sessions.
We change partners frequently: it is much more effective! If you do not want to change partners, let us know at the start of class.
Important
Please check in at the entrance before each class (insurance, tracking of your classes).
Take all your classes before the end of the session
… so you don’t lose them: your classes can only be taken by you, and cannot be carried over to the next term.
Before class
The 15 minutes before class are for registration and payment, but also for catching up and chatting of all kinds — enjoy it!
Come earlier if you have not yet paid the full amount of your subscription.
…
Turn off your phone and take your place. There will be plenty of room for laughter and good humour, but without discipline the class will go nowhere: keep things moving by following instructions and encouraging others to do the same.
Your e-mail
… so we can contact you (in case of schedule changes, class cancellations, promotions, news, end-of-session reminders, new photos…) and please add info@salsabruxelles.be to your contacts so our emails don’t end up in your « Spam » folder.
Levels
… roughly correspond to a 12-class session, but we encourage you to repeat a level you have not yet mastered, in whole or in part: it is about understanding and integrating. Our students often take several classes per week and also attend levels below their own (an excellent way to appreciate how far you have come, and to consolidate your technique).
A few tips for learning quickly and well
- Master a correct, fluid, relaxed, natural basic step
- Learn to recognise the musical rhythm, on slow, medium, fast, easy, complex tracks…
- Work on « balanced » contact with different partners (leading and following)
- Tackle understanding difficulties: identify the structure of steps and turns, be precise
- Practise as often as possible! In class and outside, with classmates, or « solo »…
- Build solid technique: one difficulty at a time, don’t skip steps!
- Without a doubt the most important in the long run: have fun! Motivate yourself, make frequent practice an enjoyable and relaxing moment, and you will be surprised by your progress!
Complete beginners
Come to the « beginners » level for a full session before moving up to the next level.
Already danced salsa in another style?
Come 3 or 4 times to the « beginners » level to master the basic steps and turns, which will make you a much more pleasant partner, and as soon as they feel familiar and accessible, try the « salsa 1 » level.

Clothing, shoes
Dress « comfortable and light ». Good dance shoes are a plus, not essential at the start.
Avoid light summer sandals and cowboy boots, to protect your feet and those of your partner.
Useful items
Chewing gum, mints (bright smile & fresh breath), a towel, deodorant…
Salsa Bruxelles etiquette
Enjoy this wonderful opportunity to meet friendly people, and relax! Tell your partners your first name and smile: it « breaks the ice ». Make friends while avoiding correcting your partners.
Keep the room tidy and in good condition, and have fun!
Holidays
Sometimes we close for 1 or 2 weeks at the end of a session. We publish the information on the website and on Facebook.
Become a VIP on Facebook
We would be delighted if you asked to join our private Facebook group École Salsa Bruxelles (very easy to leave ;o).
